Let’s not mince words here…  Life has gotten pretty weird in the last few years.  I’ll try to keep it real.

I am lucky enough to say that I loved my career as an Industrial Instrument Mechanic, travelling all over, learning new skills and meeting new people wherever I went.(my favourite part)  :)    I just felt like I needed to be home doing something positive for me as well as those I love.

For 30 years I have been building, growing, and creating here on the Sunshine Coast…. whatever came to mind.  I decided to focus on that.

Walker Creek Farm is a compilation of all the things…

Mushrooms came to me as a surprise right after I started raising worms. The worms needed to be fed every week, which wasn’t going to be easy considering the size of the CFT (Continuous Flow Through) reactor I built.  Then along came an opportunity to own a mushroom farm. “THIS IS PERFECT!!” I can grow mushrooms and feed the worms the mushroom manure along with the compost to create a beautiful vermicompost that will have all the goodness of mushroom manure as well as pre-composted kitchen and yard scraps.  It was a “Eureka” moment and has been working ever since. The worms are happier than ever and as a bonus I am loving the process of growing mushrooms from cell… to culture… to grain… to sawdust… to table.

I will always endeavour to make this place a little better…  Thank you for your support.
